I have been a huge fan of Kai scissors for about a decade! I first discovered them on a trip to Sew Expo in Puyallup, Washington in the early 2000’s. They had a small booth set up and I was able to try them and imediately fell in love with them and came home with my first pair  of 5210’s tucked into my suitcase. Over the years, my entire family has jumped on the Kai scissors bandwagon along side me!

I purchased a pair of the 5135’s for both Noah and Sarah for school and never needed to purchase another pair of scissors until they graduated.  They told me their classmates were constantly borrowing their scissors as they were so much better than the “school scissors” that I had always purchased in years past.

Currently, Noah and I have approximately a dozen pairs of Kai scissors between the two of us. That original pair I purchased in Puyallup now have a little paper tag around the handle identifying them as “paper cutting scissors”. While they’re a little dull after ten years of cutting fabric (and have never been sharpened), they are still amazing for cutting through paper! We also have older pairs designated for felt and vinyl which tend to dull scissors quickly.  Everyone is careful to use the correct scissors for the medium they are cutting as we all appreciate just how well they cut and want to take care of them!

I’ve had many scissors over the course of my 30+ years of sewing, but Kai’s are definitely my favorite! They are sharp, easy on my early-arthritic hands, and extremely affordable! If you’re in the market for new scissors, I highly recommend giving them a try!
