Today’s post is ALL ABOUT THE TEE! I am part of a Blog Tour sponsored by Made For Little Gents and GYCT Patterns called Changing Up The Tee! 15 different bloggers will be using the same Tee pattern by GYCT Patterns and making it their own with unique colorblocking, applique, heat transfer vinyl, etc.

All 15 bloggers will be using the Primary Tee & Dress PDF pattern.  This pattern includes both tee and dress options as well as short or long sleeves!  There is also a sash and a pocket option as well!

I have to admit I was a little nervous about sewing up my tee’s as I didn’t realize until AFTER I joined this blog tour that the pattern begins at 12 months!  Kai is currently wearing a 9 months and I was afraid it would be huge on him. The completed tee is roomy, but not too big at all! I was thrilled to see that it fits now and should fit all summer long. Also, Kai’s head is in the 95th percentile, and finding patterns to fit can be an issue, but this was not the case with the Primary Tee! It slipped easily over his head, and yet was not huge around the neck. I think we have our new go to Tee pattern!

Each blogger in this tour was challenged to Change Up The Tee in their own way. I used quick and easy SewingForSarah Embroidery Machine Appliques – Elephant with Flag Applique  and Giraffe Applique both for the 5×7 hoop.  When using embroidery machine applique on a hand sewn shirt, I like to apply the applique to the front of the shirt before stitching the shirt together. I find this much easier than trying to hoop a tiny baby tee!  I like to use a cutaway stabilizer and then trim close to the finished applique.

Be sure to join SewingForSarah’s facebook group for previews of sales and new Embroidery Machine Designs!

  1. I just want to warn you about bringing Kai to where I live. We have laws requiring permits to bring for kiddos this cute within city limits (cuts down on competition for the mayor’s own kids). Be safe and get your permit before bringing this little handsome fellow into town and prevent yourself from fetching a ticket for having a child so fetching in your company. He is sooo precious and his smiles are soooo contagious they are infectious…. 🙂
