I’ve made three Pitter Rompers by Puperita now and this has become a favorite pattern! I place the snaps a little higher on the straps than on the first and I can add a second snap a little lower when he outgrows this setting if the romper still fits.
I was so excited to be invited to be a guest seamstress for It’s Sew Creative. for their Christmas in July preorder round which includes Mother Goose! We are huge fans of Little Golden Books going all the way back to my own childhood and this fun print reminds me of those. This round opened last night and will be open until July 25th for preorders! It includes some great Christmas prints as well as several cute Mother goose prints and glitter sparkle coordinates! The fabrics are a available in Woven or Cotton Lycra.
This is a quick and easy sew and best of all, it uses wovens! When I began sewing, almost 40 years ago, all I sewed with were wovens! I didn’t discover custom knits until about two and a half years ago. At first knits can be a little intimidating but I quickly grew to love them. However, I always appreciate the ease of sewing with fabric that doesn’t stretch!

I had a fat half of the It’s Sew Creative woven Mother Goose to work with and it was plenty for the entire unlined romper. I found the scale of the books to be perfect for this project. I used a cotton/lycra solid I had on hand for the cuffs and to line the bodice.
I used #20 Kam Snaps for both the sides and straps and thought they were the perfect size!
