All this summer, my honorary granddaughter, Maelynn, is spending Tuesdays with us! We are spending lots of time playing with bubbles and the water table, visiting the splash pad and enjoying outside activities!  I also promised her I would try to sew her a dress every week!

This week’s dress pic was a no-brainer!  One of my favorite pattern companies, Max & Meena, released a new pattern the 25 Karat Dolman Trio Dress!  This pattern includes dress, shirt and tunic lengths. You can also add pockets if desired.  And the best part about it, is it is absolutely FREE using the coupon code in their facebook group: Max & Meena!

I sewed the size 7 for Maelynn. She is currently a size 6/6x but really entering 7’s lengthwise.  The 7 ended up begin perfect for her. She loves how soft and comfy the fabric is and quick and easy to dress!

This pattern has a gathered waist which I normally avoid at all costs! I just really hate to gather and did not want to gather knit! I decided to give it a go, though, as the rest of the dress looked just so simple!  I’m so glad I did! The skirt was a breeze to gather and attach – so much that I made a second dress that same day!

I love that this dress is the perfect scrapbuster! The bodice takes very little fabric and is a great way to incorporate bits of the more expensive custom knits without breaking the bank! The skirt can then be sewn from less expensive coordinates.

The Pokemon fabric is some I’ve had in my stash for a while. It was from Back Stitch and I previously had made Kai a romper from it (which he has not grown into quite yet!).

The matching turquoise stars are from my favorite star lady, TKB Prints!

The Pink Floral Wars were from Knitorious. I’ve also had these in my stash for quite awhile.

The matching pink solid was from So Cheeky and is a beautiful soft shade of pink.

If you need a quick and easy dress, this is the one!

  1. She is adorable and looks very happy with her new dresses. Both dresses are super cute but I especially love the pink one.
