Winter Foxes Hoodie

I love the romper panels from Flying Pig Fabrics! The graphics are always a great size and I love being able to cut the entire front of a romper from the panel as well as cuffs, etc.  However, when Sarah saw this panel on my work table, she immediately called dibs on it.  It is no secret that my family loves foxes!

This fox panel is part of the current Winter Round preorder at Flying Pig Fabrics.

We considered several different patterns for this panel, but in the end Sarah decided she wanted another hoodie.  Instead of a heavy weight hoodie, though, I made a shirt weight hoodie.

I used the Relaxed Raglan and Raglan Add On patterns by Patterns For Pirates. This is the regular hood version from the Add On pattern.

Romper panels are narrower than adult panels, but I was able to cut the Adult sized medium front from the panel, losing about 1/2″ of the pattern piece on the foldline. The medium is plenty roomy on Sarah that it still fit fine by doing this. I love that we didn’t have to lose any of the panel graphics to make this hoodie! Sarah usually wears a small, but we wanted to make it large enough to layer of a tank or cami as Colorado weather can be very unpredictable in the Fall, requiring the addition and removal of layers during the day!

I skipped the band entirely and just hemmed the bottom of the shirt on my coverstitch machine.

The green fabric is a double brushed polyester I’ve had in my stash for some time. I really loved how it brought out the greens in the panel. It makes for a nice lightweight hoodie and is incredibly soft inside. It paired really well with the weight of the panel.

We have several more hoodies/hoodie shirts in the works so be sure to check back!
