Kai’s winter wardrobe is shaping up very nicely!
For this little outfit I was sent the coolest fabric from Happy Cactus Fabrics! It is a Fat Half set, meaning it is a hard of fabric but each side is a different print! Half of the yard (a fat half) was printed with these adorable winter sharks sporting their pom pom hats! The other half was printed with the blue winter stripes – I love how it looks like snow is falling across the stripes!
Kai was crazy for the big pom pom on the hat! He kept hugging it and pulling it to his face! So adorable! Now Nana is going to want to add furry pom poms to everything!
This fabric was the bamboo/lycra and it is so incredibly soft and silky feeling! A nice light weight for those who are hot natured like Kai!
This panel is part of the current preorder at Happy Cactus Fabrics that includes cotton lycra, bamboo lycra, cotton woven, bamboo muslin, minky and french terry!
For this three piece set, I turned to some of my favorite patterns from three different pattern makers!
For the little stocking hat, I used the Jack Frost stocking hat FREE PATTERN by PeekABoo Patterns. To get the coupon code to make the pattern free, simple join their facebook group and look in the pinned post. I purchased my pom pom at Hobby Lobby but found they are much less expensive online. I’ve since ordered this pack of furry pompoms from Amazon for a third of the price!
The top is the Mega Max Raglan by Max & Meena – a very quick and easy sew!
The bottoms are the Foldover Pocket Pants (sans pockets) by Brindille & Twig.
The Winter Sharks fabric round is now on preorder at Happy Cactus Fabrics.
