Soft Kitty, warm Kitty, little ball of fur…
Kai isn’t old enough to watch the Big Bang theory as of yet (or any television!) but he sure does make a cute Soft Kitty!
Moon Beam Textile Company sent me these awesome strikes offs from their current preorder. I received a child sized panel, an adult sized panel a fat half of the print and a fat half of yellow solid – all in cotton lycra!
I love working with adult sized panels for Kai and have made him many rompers, but this time I wanted to make a baby/toddler sized blanket! An adult panel is the perfect size for this as it is a fat half. I paired it with a fat half of red luxe minky for a very warm blanket. I thought the smaller sized blanket would be perfect for car rides.
I used two of my old stand by patterns for this three piece set,
For the pants, I used the Snazzy Pants pattern by Max & Meena. This is one of my favorite pant patterns. It has the comfort of knit joggers but I love the detail of the side stripes.
The top is the Max & Meena Mega Max Raglan. I made the long sleeve version for winter using the child sized panel for the front and the yellow solid for the back and sleeves. The solid is such a nice weight – about the same weight as the cotton lycra print and panel.
The hat is a free pattern from Patterns for Pirates – the Teeny Beanie. I modified the teddy bear ears slightly to make a kitty hat instead of bear to match the theme of the fabric.
Moon Beam Textile Company’s fabric never fails to please! The weight is such a nice heavy weight perfect for fall and winter and so easy to work with – almost no rolling at all!
